First off, apologies for the Amrageddicon artdump. Normally I would post all this stuff immediately after the con, but there were complications and me being exhausted and lazy and trying to figure out what to do with my license.
Oh yes, I'm a grown-up now. I have my acupuncture license, YAAAAY!
I gotta say, though, it's hard. For one thing, my state has this dumb system where I have to get a medical referral for any and all patients I treat with acupuncture in my first year, which makes an already trying time even more difficult. To assuage some of that, my mom sent me to a seminar in California that taught me an alternative treatment modality that pretty much made her business take flight under my same circumstances, so of course she'll emphasize it every chance she gets.
But you know, I went to school for ACUPUNCTURE. I would like to treat people with ACUPUNCTURE. Allergy elimination is cool and all, but I don't want to be an allergy eliminator who does acupuncture on the side, I want to be an acupuncturist who has multiple modalities at her fingertips. Somehow I don't think my mother's picked up on that subtle, yet very important difference.
Basically I feel like I'm too much like my mother already and I need to be able to have my own specialties and some things for myself.

In other news, I staffed for the first time at the Armageddicon and it was definitely an eye-opening experience. You really have no idea how much goes on behind the scenes until you're there watching people fix things that have mysteriously gone wrong or dealing with accidents and missing attendees (FYI: carry your damn cell phone, make sure it's charged, and NEVER drop off your minor children overnight without making damn sure where they're staying! SERIOUSLY, WTF). Despite the fact that this was apparently one of the smoothest Anime Punches in terms of execution, it's still a bit too rocky for me. The next time I do staffing, IF I ever staff again, will be in several years, because if I'm going to be sleep-deprived, hungry, and achy for a whole weekend, I'd better damn well be making money at the same time. All three days I just kept thinking about all the profits I could have raked in at the Artist Alley.
This year, however, the Artist Alley was juried, and I think the judges picked a really good collection of artists and craft-vendors to be there. Even though it was an anime convention, there was a wide variety of art available, not just the standard huge-eyes-no-nose art you come to expect from these things. Everyone there was experienced if not professional, and their setups were crisp, eye-catching, and not obnoxious in the least. If we're going to be at the same hotel next year, I definitely want to be in the Alley.

Nothing else to report. I did so some art earlier in the year, so I'll see if I can't hunt that up and post it too. I know there's a drawing about douchebags somewhere around here...
